Watson Analytics allows users to explore Big Data insights through visual representations. My focus on the team has been in Natural Language Processing, which is a niche element of the product. I developed and co-designed our NLP engine. As a result of my work at IBM I have 3 patent applications submitted to the USPTO and one published paper.

Worked in a team of four including two other technical interns and an MBA student to come up with a business pitch and brainstorm project implementation of a smarter compiler. I developed an automatic dynamic optimizer for COBOL, PL/I and other static languages. Made modifications to the compiler backend. Presented our prototype and business pitch to CEO Ginni Rometty, CTO of Rational, CTO of Java, IBM Fellow of System Z design and other IBM Executives in Ottawa, Toronto and Armonk.

Presented the product to the Associate Dean of Engineering.

Required to present and demonstrate to both the Clinical Informatics and SIE Teams.
